What a weekend. Folks on all sorts of bikes, from all walks of life. Trails and laughs a plenty.
Big thanks to Scooby from this parish and the Ribble valley trail riders, plus of course Haggs Bank for looking after us. Just like an old fashioned ABR bunkhouse weekend :) Thanks to all that attended and made it so good.
Here is a little video from our 1st ever UK trail riding event. 16 riders from all over the UK on an assortment of bikes met to trail rid in and around Alston. Filmed on Go pro 7 Location Haggs Bank Alson.
Review from Ian O'brian
Rode trails from home to Haggs Bank near Alston on the Friday with Pete Gothard via Pateley Bridge, Reeth, Hamsterley Forest, & Hexham lane. Led a group on Saturday for 110 mile loop north to Hexham taking in the classic trails round Slaley Forest, "H" , Coldberry End/Grasshill Common and Tynehead (thanks to Rod Jackson for much of the route previously done with him). On Sunday, took a small group on some trails on a loop south of Alston, below the burnt out Hartside cafe before heading south on trails the way home via Tebay, Crosby Ravensworth, Kirkby Lonsdale, wih last trail being over a very wet Salter Fell. Just short of 450 miles over the 3 days of classic riding & Husqvarna 701 was brilliant for the job.

Here's some pics from this weekends Bulgaria Bike Shipping North Pennine Meet at Haggs Bank, Alston. Thank you to Dave for organising, Ian for leading a great route and hosts Danny and Helen. It's a great location to use as a base and has bunkhouse, camping and campervan facilities. Saturday's ride covered circa 110 miles and with loads of sunshine, we made good progress getting back to the digs for 3.30pm. Very strong winds on the tops meant for some interesting riding! We arrived back just in time to miss the predicted downpours. Only bike issue was a snapped chain which was quickly sorted with a spare link. There was a broad mix of bikes from 250cc up to 700cc, 2t and 4t. All in all a great weekend.
